Life without Data

On all my trips I do outside of Europe, I don’t add data to my phone. I have wifi when we are in the places we stay, but other than that, nada. I do this so I can enjoy the surroundings.

As cliche as that sounds. It really helps to not be distracted – when a message comes through usually, it’s then in my head, I have to respond, I am taken away from the ‘right now’.

So, as much as I love the internet & social media – it can wait. Read a book, relax. Some things are just better enjoyed without it. Try it – the next time you want to really enjoy your day, without any distractions – switch to flight mode. Facebook & messages will still be there later.
