Thrombosis UK

Most of you who know me, know that in 2012 and 2013, I suffered from blood clots in my lungs, pulmonary embolisms – I’m very lucky to have got to where I am today, but the road hasn’t been an easy one…

I’ll be on medication for life, and the damage to my heart and lungs still remains, although I’ve been able to reverse so much, which is why I’m so passionate about helping others.

Charities such as Thrombosis UK helped me a huge amount in the years after, and still do – creating communities where I’ve met so many inspiring people, supported, answered questions, and provided vital education, research and emotional support relating to blood clots.

Unfortunately, as with many, this small charity relies on fundraisers, donations, and events to gain funds, and due to COVID19, most if not all of the events are cancelled.. including a huge one – the London Marathon this weekend.

That’s why on Sunday, I was honoured to have been asked to do a 26 minute workout, live on zoom, to raise some well needed donations!

💘 Please feel free to still donate whatever you can, here, selecting Thrombosis UK: https://twopointsixchallenge.justgiving.com/donate

Behind the scenes – I loved it!! Supporting hundreds of people online, for a 26 minute charity movement!! What a feeling. THANK YOU to everyone who joined in, donated, and had some fun – it was so fabulous to move with you all!

It’s times like this, when hearing the inspiring stories from people who joined today, a lot of them because they’ve lost loved ones, or have suffered themselves, everyone a different story and a struggle.

BUT striving on and carrying on. Seeing so many come together for the same cause, smiling, moving and just being happy – it makes us realise what is truly important in life.
